Donna Nisleit
I've shared my life with dogs for as long as I can remember -- from mixed breed shelter rescues, to farm bred puppies, to pure bred dogs.
Currently we have a Vizsla and two German Shorthaired Pointers. We actively compete in Barn Hunt, Conformation, Agility, Obedience, Rally, Nose Work, and Hunt Tests. I'm always willing to try different activities with the dogs - depending on what they enjoy.
I've been a professional dog trainer since 2009, an AKC CGC Evaluator since 2014 and a Barn Hunt judge since 2018.
While I do enjoy the competition, I most enjoy being able to spend time with our dogs -- whether that's at an event or at our home - affectionately referred to as Muddy Paws Ranch.
Aubrey LaCrosse
Aubrey grew up loving and training dogs. Her childhood dog, Ebony a Miniature Schnauzer set the stage. The bus driver called her Dorothy with her little Toto dog always by her side.
After graduating high school and not knowing what to do with her life, she decided to expand her artistic talents and love of animals and attended Pet Grooming School. 25 years later she spends her days with dogs & cats making them look their best.
As far as dog training goes, Aubrey's first dog, a Golden Retriever tested her skills and pushed her to learn more about keeping an active and smart dog, busy and fulfilled. She achieved so much and taught Aubrey even more. Obedience, Rally, Agility, Field work, Dock Diving, and lots of tricks later, Qwik the Curly-Coated Retriever joined her family and was her first Barn Hunt Dog in 2016. Aubrey’s current pack consists of Cur-V the Poodle, Fiadh the Russell Terrier and Flip the Labrador. Weekends are spent competing in some dog sports from Conformation, Barn Hunt, Earthdog, Agility, Rally and Retriever Field work.
Aubrey started teaching classes under the guidance of an experienced trainer in the early 2000’s. She has learned from every student and tries to carry that knowledge forward with every challenge presented to her.
Outside of dogs, Aubrey loves winter, traveling, and tending to her flock of egg laying chickens.
ELLA JORS
Emily Monroe
Ella was introduced to dog sports with Harley, her mixed breed, who dabbled in a variety of activities like rally and scent work, had a 9-year career as a medical alert service dog, and acted as a demo dog for local service dogs in training. Fallon, her German Shepherd and first dedicated performance dog, discovered Barn Hunt in 2020, and they've been avid competitors ever since. Both Harley and Fallon compete at the Master level, and Fallon went on to win the 2024 and 2025 Barn Hunt Regional in Iowa.
In 2025, Ella started working towards becoming a Barn Hunt Judge, and she is a B-Judge as of Fall 2026. She enjoys competing, but her favorite part of the sport is the training and relationship building that happens before ever stepping into the trial ring. She loves seeing teams have "a-ha!" moments, and she's passionate about working with dogs who struggle with things like nervousness and reactivity but really come into their own when they get to play the Barn Hunt game.
Emily was born and raised in Wisconsin, but spent nearly a decade in Montana working with dogs of all shapes and sizes. After returning to Wisconsin, she owned and operated a small pet supply store for over eight and a half years, building strong connections within her local pet community.
She shares many first-time experiences with her Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Mahnke—her first purebred dog and her first performance partner. Together, they discovered Barn Hunt, which has become their primary focus and passion. As a team, they have competed multiple times at both Regional and National levels with great success.
Emily especially enjoys watching teams grow and gain confidence in the Barn Hunt ring, finding it incredibly rewarding to see the bond between handler and dog develop over time. While Barn Hunt remains their specialty, she and Mahnke also enjoy exploring new dog sports and trying out different venues whenever they can.
liz Groehler
Liz has always loved working with animals and can’t remember a time when she didn’t have at least one under her care. She grew up with mixed-breed dogs, and for her, watching dog sports on TV was the equivalent of watching the Super Bowl.
Currently, Liz has a mixed-breed and a German Shorthaired Pointer involved in Lure Coursing, Barn Hunt, Therapy Dog Work, Conformation, Hunt Trials, Agility, and Scent Work. She began competing in Barn Hunt in 2022 with her first dog and now competes with both of her dogs at the Master Level. She loves teaching people how to work with their dogs and helping them try something new!
